ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT Bulk Fill Composite resins are restorative materials that present low tension and polymerization shrinkage, allowing them to be inserted in a single increment of up to 4 mm of thickness, in a restorative cavity. This paper aims to report a clinical case of restorations done on posterior teeth with Bulk Fill restorative system, using selective acid-etching with self-etch adhesive system. Patient, male, 24 years old, presented a carious lesion on the occlusal surface of dental element 37 and an occlusal unsatisfactory amalgam restoration, on element 36. A restorative treatment with Universal Bond 3M / ESPE and bulk fill composite resin (3M / ESPE) was done. According to the case described, it was possible to observe that the materials and techniques used restored the form and function of the teeth involved, preserving pulp vitality with a satisfactory aesthetic result. The bulk fill resins employed offer practicality and decrease clinical time, with satisfactory clinical applicability in the aesthetic and functional rehabilitation of posterior teeth.
RESUMO Resinas compostas do tipo Bulk fill constituem um material restaurador que apresenta baixas tensão e contração de polimerização, podendo ser inserido em incremento único, de até 4mm de espessura, numa cavidade. Este trabalho objetiva relatar um caso clínico de restaurações em dentes posteriores com o sistema restaurador Bulk fill, empregando o condicionamento ácido seletivo com sistema adesivo autocondicionante de emprego universal. Paciente, sexo masculino, 24 anos, apresentava lesão de cárie na face oclusal do elemento dentário 37 e restauração oclusal de amálgama insatisfatória, no elemento 36. Sendo proposto e realizado tratamento restaurador com Single Bond Universal 3M/ESPE e resina composta bulk fill (3M/ESPE). De acordo com o caso descrito, foi possível observar que os materiais e técnica empregados restituíram forma e função dos dentes envolvidos, preservando a vitalidade pulpar com estética considerada satisfatória. As resinas bulk fill empregadas oferecem praticidade e diminuição do tempo clínico, tendo aplicabilidade clínica satisfatória na reabilitação estética e funcional de dentes posteriores.

Objetivos: Este artigo objetiva relatar a experiência inclusiva do projeto de extensão Sentir o sorriso, vivenciada por uma equipe do Curso de Graduação em Odontologia da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, objetivando oportunizar aos deficientes visuais de uma ONG da cidade do Recife/PE a conhecerem a sua saúde bucal, a anatomia e as principais patologias que acometem a cavidade oral (cárie dentária, doença periodontal, maloclusão e câncer de boca). Materiais e Métodos: Foram realizadas ações de promoção de saúde bucal por meio de práticas preventivas e educativas com modelos texturizados, confeccionados para a exploração da capacidade sensorial tátil desses indivíduos. Resultados: Capacitaram-se os deficientes visuais para o controle de sua saúde bucal. Conclusões: As oficinas e palestras permitiram a percepção e o conhecimento das estruturas anatômicas e das principais patologias bucais por parte dos deficientes visuais, além de propiciar aos estudantes de Odontologia participantes a adequação para o ensinamento de técnicas de higiene bucal e autoexame da boca para esse grupo de indivíduos.
Objectives: This article aims to report the inclusive experience of the extension project Feeling the Smile, performed by a group of students of the graduation in Dentistry, of the Federal University of Pernambuco, which had the intention to create opportunities for visually impaired people from an ONG in Recife-PE to understand their oral health, anatomy and major pathologies that affect the oral cavity (dental caries, periodontal disease, malocclusion and oral cancer). Methods: Were carried out actions to promote oral health through preventive and educational practices with textured models, which were made to explore the tactile sensory ability of these individuals. Results: Enabled if the visually impaired for control of your oral health. Conclusions: Thus, the workshops and lectures led to the perception and knowledge of anatomical structures and major oral pathologies by the visually impaired, besides giving the participating dental students suitability for the teaching of oral hygiene techniques and self-examination of the mouth for this group of individuals.

O advento do ataque ácido, introduzido por Buonocore em 1955, trouxe a possibilidade de adesão entre a base do braquete e o esmalte, contribuindo para uma ortodontia mais estética e conservadora. Esta técnica de colagem direta de braquetes trouxe vantagens como diminuição do custo e do tempo na execução do tratamento, assim como maior facilidade de higienização oral. Este estudo objetivou realizar um levantamento de trabalhos publicados sobre a colagem de braquetes ortodônticos ao esmalte dentário. Verificou-se que as resinas compostas e o ionômero de vidro são os materiais mais estudados e pesquisados para este fim. O ionômero de vidro modificado por resina, com sua biocompatibilidade, capacidade de liberar flúor e ausência de necessidade de ataque ácido na estrutura dentária começa a se tornar mais popular entre os cirurgiões-dentistas, porém a resina composta fotopolimerizável, por suas propriedades estéticas e mecânicas, ainda é um dos adesivos de escolha na técnica de colagem de braquetes e seu uso é amplamente difundido.
The advent of acid etching, introduced by Buonocore in 1955, brought the possibility of bonding between the bracket base and enamel, contributing to more esthetic and conservative orthodontics. This direct bracket bonding technique has brought benefits such as reduced cost and time in performing the treatment, as well as making it easier to perform oral hygiene. The aim of this study was to conduct a survey of published studies on orthodontic bracket bonding to dental enamel. It was verified that resin composites and glass ionomer are the most studied and researched materials for this purpose. Resin-modified glass ionomer, with its biocompatibility, capacity of releasing fluoride and no need for acid etching on the tooth structure, has become increasingly popular among dentists. However, due to the esthetic and mechanical properties of light polymerizable resin composite, it continues to be one of the adhesives of choice in the bracket bonding technique and its use is widely disseminated.

A utilização das cerâmicas odontológicas em procedimentos restauradores tem se destacado devido à influência atual da estética sobre o bem-estar físico, psíquico e social da população. As cerâmicas puras, particulamente, apresentam uma excelente alternativa à infra-estrutura metálica por causa das suas propriedades estéticas e mecênicas. Nesta revisão, as marcas comerciais existentes no mercado foram descritas de acordo com sua composição e fabricação. Sendo assim, o objetivo deste estudo é apresentar os diversos sistemas cerâmicos livres de metal disponíveis atualmente, enfatizando suas indicações, vantagens e limitações.
The use of the dental ceramics in restorative procedures has been enhanced due to the current influence of esthetics above the physical, psychid and social well-being. The all-ceramics systems, in particular, show an excellent alternative to the metallic infrastructure because of theirs aesthetic and mechanical properties. In this revision, the available trademarks in the market were described according to their composition and fabrication. Therefore, the aim of this study is to present the various ceramics systems metal free available currently, enhancing their indications, advantages and limitations.
